Flip School: How Do You Get Buy In?

This summer, as I speak to educators across the globe, I get the same question.  How do you flip an entire staff?  I feel that many of us pioneers are trying to convince others by our sheer enthusiasm about technology and passion for change.  Remember, those around us may not be as motivated or excited about things as we are.  I feel the real key for us is to show them the significant advantages it has for them.  If you want a teacher to do a screen capture, what are their immediate advantages of doing more work? We are all self-centered, therefore, lets put innovation in it.  By shifting the thought process from others to them personally benefiting finally your staff has personal motivation to change.   Talk to any successful salesman that is the key.  SALES 101!

That is how I feel you create change in a school.   Everyone will have a different point of view based on their experiences principals, teachers, students etc.  You have to know your audience.  Simply put...  if you are selling a teacher on flipping their classroom or integrating technology,  what are their  for them and not necessarily their students?
